Hey everyone,
Been stalking on the forums pretty much since I joined since I didn't own a P-car, and technically, I still don't lol. But I've been doing research on them non-stop for the last few months and finally came across this one that I was able to test drive yesterday and I am in the process of pulling the trigger.

I was able to negotiate the final price down to 49k and got them to throw in the 2 year porsche CPO. I ran through the checklist on rennlist for buying a 996tt and everything seems good, but being a pessimist, I keep thinking that this deal seems too good to be true because I've been seeing the same setup almost for thousands more. Having only 19k miles made me think there was something wrong with it, but I'm really hoping that I lucked out and got a good find. So anyway, the sale is basically pending the DME report they are running for me in the morning and what the APR is on the finance. I joined PenFed, but unfortunately left them in another state, so I'll have to try to call them in the morning and see if I can get financed through them with their 2.99%.
But anyway, I'll stop ranting lol, just wanted to introduce myself and maybe see if anyone has an opinion on this specific car or has heard anything about it. Thanks guys and hope to be joining the ranks soon.

Don't Sweat the Low Miles...
If you've done your research, you're aware that there are a number of low miles cars out there....weekend drivers that weren't driven. With any used car, there is some uncertainty. But if the car has a good maintenance history and if Porsche is willing to CPO the car (their CPO standards are fairly stringent), I personally wouldn't worry too much about the purchase...buy and enjoy. BTW, bought my CPO 03 four months ago with 7k miles and have been grinning ever since.
Thanks TTTerror,
I've been basically up all night reading up on 996 mods (mod virus plagues my blood) but because I got them to CPO it, and Anthony, my CA there tells me they aren't exactly mod friendly, I'm going to hold off for now and just plan, but oh how I will plan lol. First things first, need to get a set of blizzaks and a winter rim setup since this will be my year round dd.

Get a PPI from someone else no matter who you buy it from. If you plan on modding heavily you can pretty much kiss the value of the PPI goodbye.

Remember, a CPO will allow body work, repairs, engine over-revs, etc
DO NOT THINK A CPO REPLACES A PPI.
Someone stated "fairly stringent"... a joke.
A member hear bought a CPO in which there were aftermarket parts and a flashed DME- PCNA could/would have refused to cover any failures due to 'modifications and abuse', yet this dealer sold it as a CPO.
Not saying anything is wrong with this car- I didn't even click on the link...just warning you about CPOs. Only think of value is the warranty!

Good deal, I paid 49.5k for an 02 with 29k miles and two year warranty back in may. I paid cash but later did a cash out refi with penned fcu at 2.99 percent for five years. Can't beat good cheap cash!
I'll be looking for one in the next couple months as well and am worried about all the stuff I'll have to check over on a potential car. I'd almost want to dyno it to make sure it was making the proper power, but I think that might be overkill.
