Here is the issue in a nutshell...superb options. One could say too many choices.

EP is super durable and proven.

Switzer, Speedtech, Markski, Proto, etc. All good stuff. There are others yet, also good.

I have a Switzer and love my unit, but others love theirs. I got mine before the speedtech crossflow, Markski's, and some others were on the market.
Look at pricing, etc. Warranty, etc. One person's drone is another person's rumble...so try to hear and experience them in person via PCA events, this forum, and other forums. All the individuals involved in the above named brands are top tier "good" people. Many of these units are beautiful works of mechanical art. The welds are just amazing on some of them. I like that, but it may not make any difference in durability or performance.

Good luck.
Excellent points all around.
The decision is not always easy unless you can personally hear and drive the different systems.
For the guys using Europipe how did you decide which stage and whether to go loud or quiet?
Stef if you are reading any thoughts from your end?

Stage 1 is great on all 996 Turbos.

Stage 2 quiet is best for all the cars with big turbochargers. Big turbochargers are noisier hence the quieter version exhaust.

Stage 2 loud on cars with big turbochargers will be too loud for most customers.

Stage 2 quiet on an X50 is as loud as a Stage 2 loud on a regular TT.

Cheers, Stef

That all makes sense. I drove an 02 x50 K24 car with the Stage 2 loud and found the exhaust too intrusive and with too much drone in the 2-3K range, at least for my taste. The quiet version would probably be perfect on the large turbo car. I've never found a loud exhaust very appealing though but each his own...

Anyone running the "second generation" AWE-Tuning setup?

Also, what are the real differences between a center muffler setup vs. a cross-pipe? Okay they'll sound different, but what else?

I am VERY happy with my FabSpeed Gen II on 200Cell CATS. Not too loud, not too quite, Just right. Good quality average weight and not too pocket wrenching.
