Wantone: Nice pictures, but that's not a track. That's autocrossing. The car looks good, now let it stretch its legs at a track.

Cool

Maybe I'm missing something, but using 1st and maybe 2nd gear in a parking lot is not for me.

PCNA denied an engine claim (04 996) to someone for participating in these parking lot autocrosses in S. Cal. if the cars can't handle this, i wonder about a track?

Auto-x's are arguably harder on a car than a track. The rapid brake-accel-brake-accel-brake.... on top of short quick run then sitting and runnign again later...

The car can't stretch its legs.

Autox for TT's

I've done both Autox and track. I like them both. It has to be said that the TT is not the ideal Autox car, that's probably a Miata or perhaps even a first generation Mini.

But, it's all good.

I've not had to claim anything against warranty for the activities I've participated in. But it would seem to me that if you didn't wrap the beast into the rev limiter time-after-time or drive it into a wall, or race fender-to-fender that it would be hard to deny a warranty action that was related to a faulty part of installation.

Anyway I always like to hear the "high brow" people saying that Autox is beneath them. Fine, it's thier opinion but there are others who disagree.

This is the same for Mitsubishi and Subaru. You're supposed to buy a car, and they (mfg) gives you a one year SCCA membership, then they void your warranty!
