how to tell - techart or replica?

Hi all,
I am about to purchase a used Techart front bumper off ebay. It's listed as genuine Techart, but the seller agreed to discount the price if it turns out to be a replica.
My question is: how do you tell? I thought only the real deal would say Techart, but some replica parts do too. (I just purchased Precision Porsche 997/Techart-style side skirts, and they are stamped Techart inside)

Hope someone can help!

TIA!!

Here is my question- if precision porsche is cheaper and of the same quality and material- what are you getting with spending more on the "tech-art"?

Im asking, as Im contemplating the same conversion. Is the tech-art is a better quality and fit?

from what i've read, some think that Techart may be a better fit. I've also read that Precision Porsche is a great fit. I was actually thinking of a Precision Porsche, but then I figured that a used one (already trimmed to fit) would be best for me... and a Techart (or Techart-style) one popped up!

Do all genuine Techart bumpers have the side vents... the little vents on the bottom sides, under the side markers? (cuz i think the one i'm looking at doesn't)

Tehcart bumper will have kevlar coating on the fiberglass to strengthen it. I believe u can get a carbon fiber coating on aftermarket techart bumpers though.

The techart front bumper I had on my 993 had a small tag with a logo and number embedded in the resin.

I believe there were 2 series to the Tech Art front bumper, one without the little vents on the bottoms under the side markers whcih was the first generation then the 2nd generation where they included the sidevents there. Could be wrong, im sure someone will chime in.

Yes, there are two styles Type I and Type II...the Type II has the vents. Mine was stamped TechArt into the fiberglass.

here is the TechArt site

^+1. There is a techart stamp on all their pieces, along with a part number.

Techart should be made of PURIM, polyurethane essentially.

With real TechArt you get all the extra brake cooling pieces and radiator mounts for optimal performance.
