There is a GT3 front vent that fits. It is OEM and you can cut the stock 996tt front bumper and fit the GT3 vent. I can't find the pictures of who did this, but it was a C4S and a few years ago. It would be cheaper to buy a rep GT2 front end however.

I can't believe this would be very difficult to integrate. Cutting is pretty straightforward as long as you are relatively precise. You will either need some heavy adhesive or create some kind of bracket to hold it.

Not sure this will work without a lot of fabrication. As I recall, there are tabs for the bumper connection to the car in that area. Once you cut out that space there would not be enough tab connection for the bumper connection to the car. The 997 GT3 grill would work, but it does not line up with the 996 hood outline.

Probably better off locating a GT2 bumper

The factory GT2 vent is an insert, it's recessed in the bumper. You would have to cut a hole, mold in a cavity or some sort of support for it.
996 TechArt is also the same way.

You're better off aftermarket GT2 or factory GT2 bumper if you want the vent.

The 996 GT3RS has 3 curved rectangle openings with mesh screen covering the vents. You might want to look into this style.

The 997 GT3 vents actually sit on top of the bumper, so cutting a hole and putting one on is easier. This might work but the bumper shape is different and it contours the hood.

This 997tt Cabriolet has a GT3 grille in it... I believe the work was done by Lucent Motors in LA.

LO_996tt is infamous around these parts
It seems like a drop in for 996tt would be a great after-market add. You would get the vent of a GT2 without a full bumper swap. I am surprised that there is not one out there. I would go for it. Cut a hole... 3m tape... drop it in and your done.

Subscribed... however the gt2 is also functional. It has a vent intake underneath which redirects air across the bonnet area. Correct?

i just emailed a carbon fiber fabricator about this, maybe they will take on this project on making a drop in Gt2 style vent for our cars, of course it will only be cosmetic
