hi all , am not a 996tt owner , i have tip 997tt moded with GT3076 turbos with external wgs and moded tiptronic gearbox !!! i used this thread in 996tt section because i found that many venders and many guys are useing the hks evc 6 !!! so i hope somebody can help me here !! i read that sweztlr and AwdMotorsports are installing this EBC to porsches , so i hope they help me fixing this issue and i will be thankfull

i was useing the greddy ebc it ws good but the boost was not steady all the run !! hard to set !!! so i moved to hks evc 6 !!! i think i installed the boost wiring correctly .. please look to the pic !!!

i got steady boost 1.5 or 1.6 bar all the time and fast boost response
!!! it was easy to set , no spike at all !!! only 1 problem that make me feel sad and angry !!! the boost droped alot when the gearbox shift to next gear !!! it drops from 1.6 bar to 1 bar !!!!!!! than hard to back 1.6 bar !!! i read a thread that STAFF@RPM wrote it

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...rol-parts.html

.. he said that hks porsche user should use 4mm hoses for all the boost wiring !!! is that true ?? because am only used 4mm for the vacum hose that connected to first right nipple in the hks steper moter !!! and the other wires were 6mm !!!

what do you think ?? why is that happening ???

something else which ecu pin you use to connect the rpm signal for the hks evc6 ???? i think that the 997tt use the same dme that 996tt has right ???

big thanks

yousef

I do not tap any lines that have to do with the boost controller. I would run the dv lines on there own. Also the dme maybe closing t/b between shifts an that is why you see the boost drop. You can move the sensor line for the dv's to the upstream side of the t/b to see if that's the case (they will not open to dump boost)

Your diagram looks correct.

I have a greddy with external 44mm Tial WG, and that is pretty much exactly how I plumbed the system. I did tap the y-pipe and plenum separately for the DV's and reference pressure, so the lines are dedicated to each use. I don't see that as being a huge deal however.

Are you dumping boost thru the DV's or are wastegates opening? Have you run with just the spring pressure of the wastegates, and see if you get a drop on the shift? Is the car throwing any codes?

Sorry for a late response to what were talking about in PMs. Been busy moving into the new house and hardly have been keeping up with the forums.

But pardon my drawing skills but I had a free moment at work so I went ahead and doodled this one up. This is how we have mine setup. On the wastegate I have 2 nipples and if I remember correctly the bottom just loops up to the nipple off of the compressor cover.

We did drill/tap our own port for the reference ahead of throttle body because the factory one caused us to have problems.

I still do not reference RPM with the unit even having the HKS Fcon on the car as well. I just never felt a need to.

Not sure on the hoses honestly. I remember 2 of the nipples on the HKS are bigger so I can't remember how we got them on. Anytime I buy vacuum hose it's usually from Autozone or O'riellys. When we do personally work on the car we do it at our parents house because it has all of the tools, and those 2 places are basically walking distance.

I know BL replaced all the vacuum hoses with new ones so it all matched and looked good, but I need to ask Zohair which was used.
