I never heard of tweaking a turbo for gears
,maybe the boost controller but not on this car & rest assured KPG's car will pull just as hard in third
. It may be faster with 3-4 shift, KPG will find out.

No, I didn't mean for gears but for volumetric efficiency. It was just a hypothetical. Hard to improve on a great number but it's always fun trying. Nice work!Originally Posted by topgun

I would argue two cars with similar builds, the one that is faster in a 4th gear only pull is a more streetable car. The reason being the one that can produce more tq down low and across the powerband is a more all around vehicle as opposed to a " peaky" tune. Everything I have ever wanted in a car is power under the curve, not power under the peak. I think this car is the Porsche equivalent of having your cake and eating too. Originally Posted by TTdude

Take a look at this dyno sheet from one of the runs, and it wasnt the best run either, and take note of the AVG tq and hp across the run. From roughly 2200 rpm to 7000 it averaged 574 AWTQ to the ground. To put that in perspective, at every single point on the RPM band from start to finish there was an avg of 574AWTQ and 510AWHP available to the ground. That is why the car can run a 4th gear only 60-130 because it has tq and hp available in significant amounts everywhere along the powerband.... power under the curve!

Kevin i'm only going to make this offer once: I will trade you my car, two large Chipotle Burritos, and a case of Bud Heavy for your car. I know you'd probably do it for the beer alone but it's Friday and I'm feeling good.
id love to see what this would make on a Dynojet
1000+
is it a built bottom end?

You know Ben, all these comments about my weight and you still offer leaded beer. If it was Bud lite I would consider, but since I am thoroughly offended at the moment I must decline you offer...Originally Posted by bmoores

Yes, a lot of detail work went into the bottom end... GT3 crank, custom oil galleries drilled, shufflepinned, case windage work, balancing to a very tight tolerance, aftermarket studs, headgaskets etc... Originally Posted by prodigymb

As for the dyno jet, maybe, but it wouldnt change how it runs...

Yeah, I hear ya. It's area under the curve. When I looked at Mike's (Bailey) datalogs, it was clear where he picked up performance with his 5.5. There was a lot gained down low and he did not lose much up top either. I thought his was the perfect street monster, especially for a stock motor. I'm just saying that one could have a slightly different turbo with a very postive 3rd gear response especially if you have a high rev limit and blow it out in 4th. That might result in an improved time. As far as streetability, what you have is totally awesome.Originally Posted by KPG

Sounds like you run some type of speed shop, do you have a get together for the WDC. I usually stay away from the Dream Cruise as bumper to bumper traffic as far as the eye can see gets a bit old, not enough space to stretch the legs...Originally Posted by XLR82XS
Congrats!! You need to bring that beast out my way this summer for the dream cruise.
