2002 modded turbo value?
2002 modded turbo value?
I need a few opinions on this car for sale. It is an 02 996tt awd w/ 5000 original mi. It has a ball bearing new generation evoms gt 660 kitw/ alpha 28s installed in 2010. It is black on black w/ sport seats, 2nd gen PCCBs, and Bilstein PSS10s. It has software tune. Has BBI exhaust also. Everything looks absolutely perfect inside and out, and amazing to drive.
What is your opinion on ballpark value right now with 5K miles and in 4 years with about 25K miles. Please assist in your best guess. Thank you ahead of time. I'm trying to make sure I am prepared for my losses.

You probably need a new pair of glasses 'coz you didn't read what he wrote...5000 miles,PCCB and bilsteins and yet you think the car is worth $50,000
So with out those mods, yoy'd say the car is worth low 40's
I know several sales of stock '01 with mid teen miles selling for mid 50's. I would say any thing between mid-high 50's to low 60's be a good buy.

An unmodded two owner '02 with 15k original miles just sold in my area for just under $50k, if that helps. I'd expect the upper end of the 50-55 range (if those mods are important to you).

Mods don't help much, unless you find someone from here to buy it. Maybe mid 50's due to the power. No matter what it sounds like a great catch for someone.

Agreed.
Seller would probably start asking around high 60s - low 70s. Car sounds immaculate with ridiculously low miles, desireable colors and options, and tastefully modded with respected (and expensive) additions.
High 40s low 50s would be an absolute steal for this car... way, way below the current market values.

Stock this car with 5000 miles would go for atleast $55 and then add 50% of the mods if they are important to u and if you are going to them any way.
$50,000 + $4000(PCCB) + $7000(evoms) +$500(B&B) that comes to $62,000.
4 years later not sure if people would like to buy a modded car.I know I won't. Still I would say low 40's.

Mods, no matter which kind only add value to those seeking a modded car, which is the minority in any car market. The general car market for Porsche overall looks for clean unmolested, original cars. Your best bet would be to return it to stock and sell the parts separately or find a buyer that wants those specific mods on the car.
Parts only, no labor... the brakes are $16,000. The EVOMS kit is $20,000. PSS10's are, what $2,500?
There's nearly $40k (retail) of tastefully upgraded hardware. Not even factoring in the extensive labor... I'm sure the receipts would total $50-60k. And it's a 5k mile black/black '02.
It's really, really difficult to predict values 4 years from now. But in 2011, this car is worth at least $58-60k IMHO... assuming it has all of the books/records and passes a PPI. Values have been creeping upwards over the last couple years.

Sometimes, mods actually hurt the value of the car. Typically, this is when you have a "frankencar" that is a hodge-podge of different parts from all over the place. Or, when the car is modified with cheaper aftermarket stuff, or replica parts. This car doesn't seem to suffer from those concerns.
And while the general Porsche market may look for clean, unmolested original cars... the 996TT market probably is slightly different. Most educated buyers looking at these cars know about the motor's potential - so a high-quality kit from RUF, EVOMS, Switzer, et. al. would be desireable to more folks than a general-Porsche-market shopper.
Anyway, I'm not in the market (as a buyer or seller), so it really doesn't matter to me - but I would be curious, if this car sells in the near future, to know what the agreed price wound up being.
