DrivItLkUStolIt is infamous around these parts
conversation piece

I saw a set of these a few years ago in the beautiful display box they come in. Picked one up, ultra lite, very cool. If I bought a set I would just leave them in the box opened on the coffee table. Judging from the six page thread they would make a great conversation piece. Could you imagine explaining them to a non Porsche person.
Dealt with a lot of Ti on my mountain bike in the past, great stuff. There is a new alloy I have read about called Unobtainium, supposed to be better than Ti, but I have not been able to find a distributer.

Pics are on pages 1 and 3. I bought from a company called Race Metal, which sold a lot of Ti motorcycle parts. Their old website (www.RaceMetal.com) doesn't seem to be operating, so I don't know if they are still around. They sold them for $550 a set, but made a special deal for a few of us 6speeders at $500.

Unobtainium is a registered mark of Oakley and I think they have been using it for a long time to describe the plastic they use for some sunglass frames - not quite an alloy but a great marketing name.
