Has anyone participated in events with Speedventures in Norcal?

I am trying to find a few driving schools for the coming months and it seems that these guys have several good dates. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how well they run the schools (safety, organization, etc) vs. PCA or BMWCCA schools. I have instructed with BMW and Porsche clubs so definitely comfortable on my own but don't want to go into a group with no rules or a disorganized event.

I have run with them a couple of times...just open track DE no school and I don't know anything about the quality of instruction they offer but it doesn't sound like you need any...you can contact Aaron Bitterman aaron@speedventures.net and he will answer any questions you might have....as far as safety/organization they are fine but they do get more asshat drivers than BMWCCA or PCA because there is only self tech required, less safety equipment required in cars and their track day fees are less...the economy may have reduced the number of "drifters" showing up

I have run with them a couple of times. I have never had a problem and always felt safe out on the track but I don't run in the advance group.

thanks for the info - it sounds like they are a pretty good option to get familiar with the tracks. I will let you know if I sign up for some of their upcoming events (laguna seca end of august, infineon early sep) and maybe a few others are interested.

Thanks

I have been going to SV events for 2 years. I find it safer running in the advance or upper intermediate groups since the drivers have more skills (of course). The noobs are always (including myself when I started tracking) are the ones to be concerned about.
Been to Big Willow, Streets of Willow, and Buttonwillow with SV. Dave and Aaron who run SV have not hesitated talking to drivers that need a safety reminder, they want a safe environment for everyone.
Sounds like with your experience, run in the advance group (RED) which has open passing anywhere on the track will suit you fine.

+1 for Aaron and the crew at Speedventures. They have a very nice crowd to drive and hang out with overall.

I've been to about 10 of their events up and down CA. Never had a problem, I run in the advanced group though.
