Pulled on a CL65 today

He was in front of me at street light so a full bore launch was out of the question. I didn't want to risk rear ending him if he didn't really take off but once he punched it, I was able to switch lanes and pull even with him coming from behind. Not bad considering he got the hole shot and I had to react after him being fully spooled and rolling.

Thanks Markski. They are freight trains once they get out of the box. 612 HP and 750 ft/lb torque is no joke. They ARE very heavy though...

Owning both a 996TT and a 65-AMG, I can tell you they're very evenly matched when it comes to straight line pull. It's all about what speed you start from as to who wins

Are you sure that he was aware that you were racing? The sheer weight of most AMG's negates a lot of the power they carry under the hood. Great passenger cars...but not true sportscars or racers. And I'm a Benz guy...for the time being.

Well done. Precisely the reason that I want to ditch the old SL in favor of a TT. The stuff dreams are made of.

I admit I'm surprised. We haven't raced head to head, but I don't think my X50 can take my wife's E55. It's lighter than the CL, but a lot less HP/TQ.

Good job

Nice. Our cars are really fast. On the highway last week was in traffic when 2 LP560s ran up to me. When traffic cleared I took off on 2nd at 40 and they couldn't keep up all the way to 150. Happened 3 times in a row when I slowed for traffic again and results were identical.
