Honestly? I think they made waaay too big a deal of the install. Knowing what I know now I'd have mounted them in worn mounts myself or taken it alsewhere - fool me once! Still tracking down the clunk...

Both my strut mounts were SHOT. Shop is quoting me 5.5 hours of labor (that said, they very well may get it done in 2 hours, and will only charge me that). His alignment price wasn't to bad at $350 But i've got another place I'll use.

I'm just going with OEM replacements......

Source of sound was found - mechanic didn't tighten top strut nut down completely! Only had a few short test drives and am out of town right now but it was smooth as glass after we tightened it, no added NVH but don't take that as gospel till I have more road time. I've not noticed any from the toe links or GT3 monoball lca and solid thrust puck either. More road time needed to be sure and I need to figure out why they couldn't align it properly :-(

Glad you got it sorted! Great news. Get her to a really good alignment shop with experience in these cars and you should be good to go.

Heh, this shop was filled with 911 and 944. They have experience so I'm not sure wtf. May get it on a frame machine just to check.

Btw, my mounts were SHOT. Completely torn on both sides and hanging by a thread on one. I've only got a few miles on it but I think it solved both my bad clunk and squeak.

Since mine were tightened down no more clunks and it drives smooth! Maybe a touch of vibration in the wheel but nothing bothersome at all. I like this change!
