I want to leave my big fat saloon car for something more nimble. Now being able to put 5 people in my saloon car and lots of luggage to boot is nice but I am not a family man so the point is moot and I am only doing my friends a favor every now and then by being able to drive them all around. A 996 is great bang for the buck in the world of very fast cars

Now a new model M whatever still has huge depreciation left; if you are even questioning the depreciation of a older porsche just think about what your are buying in a new or almost new BMW.

I bought my 06 M5 in early 10 with 25K on the clock and in almost perfect condition for $41K. Someone paid around $90K for it new.

i've seen m5's ( 06 ) locally as low as $30's, which is incredibly tempting. i can't imagine a either a better sedan, or sacrificing tt ownership to have one.

Seems like I can't really go wrong either way =). Since I figure I'll probably be looking at the F10 M5 5 years down the line I'll be looking for a 996TT, thanks everyone for the advice and responses.
