Just dropped off car for suspension +
I have been waiting a while for the parts to come in, but I just dropped off my 996 GT2 to have an MCS (formerly Moton) suspension installed, as well as a Safecraft fire bottle system. I will be picking it up in about a week. I can't wait!
The car was not stock, but only modestly modified. It has exhaust, tune, roll bar, harness and a sequential shifter to name a few. The suspension was OEM. The fire bottle system goes to the engine, fuel cell, and driver. The bottle will mount behind the passenger seat.
I think we are going to go with a push-button activation instead of a pull handle. We are going to remove the 4-CD rack which I NEVER use, fabricate an aluminum plate to go in it's place to mount the Safecraft billet push button. I like the idea because I always thought that CD player was silly in a GT2 anyway.
Can't wait to hear how you like the MCS suspension. As soon as I figure out what spring rates I want, I'm ordering me a set too. Lex is local as well so I have all the support I need. AST made a huge mistake by not keeping Lex on board.
Me too! I appreciate the advice you gave me on spring rates! I went with exactly what we discussed. They recommended a track alignment as well, since I plan on tracking the car this spring, and I don't put a lot of street miles on it anyway.

Robby from Piper Motorsports just sent me these pictures of the fire suppression push-button-mounting. I think it looks perfect. I had them remove the CD tray, which I have never used, and they fabricated a panel to replace it. What do you think so far?
What spring rates are you going with?
I think it looks bad-***, but I'd be waaaaaaaay too worried about hitting that button by accident!!
Looks great!
The button has a safety pin (not shown) that stays in all the time except for the track.
500 lbs front, and 700 lbs rear. I didn't want to go too stiff because I still plan on street driving.
