Question The 2nd time, after WOT, idle pops P0172 P0175, MAF?

Couple weeks ago, boost leak fixed and car rocks, but then after WOT and seen the second time now, engine light on and code checked they are P0172 and P0175, tried to clear them, have drove another 300 miles and they didn't come up again. Last night, went to drag and did a nice 0-60 time for 3.9s, 10 minutes later, about to stop and the codes come up again, doesn't it look like MAF issue? Thanks.

my uneducated hunch ( call it a guess ) is that the maf on these cars doesn't handle properly any performance mods ( flash/turbos etc ) and that maf quirks are just part of increased hp. my tech tells me the stock maf can handle up to 600hp ( or so im told ) and mines at approx 550 crank and i'm always dealing with abs/psm/cels. though i'm not racing i'm just doing highway pulls and mine codes and cels a lot also, but only after sustained boost or getting on it. it's always hot film maf codes, maf related codes, and cleaning them is a stopgap measure that helps for a minute. i'm about to replace my maf ( again ) for no other reason than the car throws cels. other than that, runs great. it's fkn annoying though, for sure.

Nope, I didnt ignore it, swap another maf and the problem\code seems gone, I was on stock filter and the K&N, now equipped a GruppeM, figercross, it didnt cause any maf code.

I revived the thread after I had found the PDF file - wasn't sure if the problem had been solved or not, but thought it would help.

me too. swapped and problem gone. but i said *ignore* because the only thing i did when changing mafs was get rid of my bmc..and i don't want to **** off bbywu

i really wonder about cleaning mafs. when mine fail, i think the diode is fried.. rather than "dirty"? which would tend to rule out the oiled filter being causative.. hmm.. who knows. for now, one less thing we need to mess with. cool.
