Now that we know there was a second run, what speed/rpm/gear did each car start from?
And how much below 100% is your car operating?
The C6 Z06 is a major achievement for GM! Outstanding performance and good looks for $75k . . . bravo! I may have one in my garage in a couple of years . . . with a couple of hair dryers strapped to it!

Price is not officially announced. One guy who saw one saw a sticker of about $67K on it.
No question, a Porsche and a Corvette are a different driving experience. Plus, you sit in a very different part of the car in the Vette, almost as far back as in an SLR. I've driven a standard C6, but the C6Z will be quite different. I actually liked the C6.
Ownership experience? Porsche treats you much better. GM has a problem with the Vette- it's priced like a Cadillac and it's buyers have on average good income and education demographics, but tradition dictates that it must be a Chevy. Personally, I think GM should restructure into three divisions- cheap cars, moderately nice cars/trucks and a luxury/performance line.
Would I sell my Porsche to get the C6Z? No, but I do think that the new Chevy will be a worthy addition to the stable.

Thanks for the report. That is cool that the test driver actually pulled over to talk to you. I remember I was at Mid-Ohio a few years back and went to lunch. As we pulled in the parking lot 2 Maybach's pulled in with a group of German testers. I walked over and started talking to them about the cars and specs and they couldn't believe how much I knew about the cars. However they were not real excited to talk about them. Trying to keep a low profile!
Anyhow the C6 will be a sweet car and no I wouldn't trade a tt for it but if you cannot
afford to buy a tt and can swing a C6 it is a sweet ride.

amazing to see some of the flames going on about the z06 so i've got my suit on.
by all accounts, the vette has made a true improvement that is not incremental at all. the 997tt does not seem to measure up at present
gm service? come on, i get an attitude from the service manager every time i come in which is bs. i can't see how the service would be that much of a burn.
bottom line: different cars for different folks. i think the car will be cool to check out and would not rule out one in the future.
