Very Impressed With New Z06

i have an 01 turbo that has the gt700 package on it. Now while im not sure my car is running 100% at this point i was in 3rd gear at 3500rpm and the zo6 was in his 2nd gear and i walked away NOT ran away from him....now to put this in context my friend as a STOCK 01 tt and i RUN away from his car.....so there u go...the new zo6 is freakin bad *** for being BONE STOCK...not to mention great looking as well......if this is the case im assuming that the z06 will SMOKE the 997 turbo being that car only is going to have what maybe 40 more hp than the 996????
Even thought a porshce is a porsche etc....id hate to drop double the money on a 997tt and be toasted by a vette for 1/2 the $$$.....

if performance is the only thing you are concerned then yes Vette even Z06 might be the deal of the century. but if u look it as a whole package sorry the quality of build & the design of interior just turn me off.

if only it were a notchback like the c5 z06's. the hatchback styling just kills it for me.

the performance is a force to be reckoned with, no doubt.

Too bad the interior still sucks.

Maybe a better deal of the century will be the new Shelby/Mustang

How did you get a chance to race a new Z06. They are not available until later this year.

Word at GM is they're having problems with keeping the valve train together - also problems with the large diameter cylinders having too much oil blowby and fouling the catalysts too quickly for the EPA.

BTW, starting a run in the wrong gear (3rd) can add over three seconds to your acceleration times, and that's huge advantage for the other car.

My wife won't let me get a Corvette. Absolutely refuses, and even started getting a little mad when I continued to joke about getting one.

But I showed her some video on TV and several pics on the computer of the 996tt, and she said, "It's beautiful".

Can't wait--just trying to get out of my SC430 lease (runs out next February), and I'm 996tt shoppin'. Soon after that, start moddin'.

Totally agree 100% , my friend has two Z06's one 2001 and one 2003 both are ok but the interiors are pure ****. The seats on the 2001 look like they are plastic the leather is so cheap. The rest of the car is fine , but you get the normal creeks - creeps - rattles. Depreciation is horribe.

His location says Michigan, there are lots of test cars running around up there. Seems believable to me.

Depreciation on a Vette is no worse that a Porsche. Personally, I like Vettes and have my name on the list of a C6 Z06.

I think that one is for sale, you can get it for $15K

"Pay Attention! This is an AWESOME Vehicle!

.. the hottest performance news since the coming of the ZR1 more than a decade ago

... seats include additional side bolstering to keep occupants firmly in place during hard cornering.

For the most particular buyer, bid with confidence! "
