KW V3 + RSS Top Mount Issue

Hi guys,

Putting these together this weekend and need some opinions... I think I'm missing a spring collar or something.

Where the mount hits the spring, it will slide around if I put lateral pressure on the spring. Thoughts?
Pics below of spring in correct position, then another pic after I push it.

Nevermind. Looks like I forgot to resuse the giant gold washer from the top of the old strut. Seems centered and sturdy now.

There should be something that will go between the upper spring perch and the mount. Or maybe a cone type spring hat to replace the one you have. seeing as the upper mount does not have an angled portion for the spring or spring mount to contact, you have make sure the spring perch or spring does not touch the upper strut mounts. Attached is a picture for example. I hope this helps.

When you pivot upper strut mount around, does the spring or adapter hit the mount? Or is it firmly seated on the strut mount? Ideally for a monoball mount you should be able to pivot it around without contacting anything other than the bearing mounting point where it bolts. Some setups allow for the upper spring perch to rest on the mount, but most of the Porsche ones I have seen do not.

It pivoted around cleanly after I added the big washer into the sleeve. Hopefully I did all that properly

Here's what it looks like now.

Well, damn. Glad you saw this and glad I only moved it a few feet. I'll call in a couple mins.

Thanks!

Not RSS's fault btw -- I bought them 2nd hand. Many thanks to Mike for spotting this thread.

Huge thanks to Mike, Bryan, and Nathan at RSS. Got me the adapters ASAP and talked me through the install.

Here's the dirty beast after I finished up!

hows the ride on the street? I've heard with KW v3's (depending on the setting) it's more compliant and better ride than OEM?

No street riding yet, towing it to shop Thursday for align/tune. I figure I'll let the pros get me a street setting since I have no idea what to expect from it I will do a full report when I get it back. I do lots of street driving and trying to do ~12 DE days a year so hopefully this can handle both!
