I changed the cylinder because the car wasnt braking good at all and after changing the fluid there was no improvement, I also checked for the vacuum and all was good, the car brakes but not good , the pedal wouldnt go to the floor but wouldnt stop like before so it had some slack and very poor braking , now with the new cylinder the car brakes, but ABS and PSM off due to this problem, good pedal feel

Bought new sensor for the pedal to do it in order to see what is wrong, at the end the PSM unit is the end unit 99635575558, that is the number my unit has any ideas where to find it if that is the case or the new ref number?

I just installed the larger master cylinder, along with the 997 rear calipers. I have 6 piston Stoptech brakes with 380mm rotors up front. The brake pedal feel is good and firm, but my PSM and ABS warning lights came on and the systems are not working (locked up the front brakes when I went for a test drive). Looks like I have the same problem as you. Let me know if you were able to figure out the problem.

At my end, I'm going to make sure that everything is hooked up correctly, that there are no leaks in the brake system and re-bleed the entire system to see if this solves the problem. I will let you know how this goes.

I read Also when changing the cylinder one has to bleed the psm system with the PIWIS... Looking to do that in one week to see if I sort the problem out send me a PM with your e mail so I can send you the info I found and we try to sort this out together.

Shouldn't be a bleed issue. Something else going on here.

I bled without PIWIS. No issues here. Pedal is hard as a rock.

My pedal feels fairly stiff as well, but the PSM/ABS warning lights are now on and not working.

Anyway, I found this website with information on bleeding the "secondary" system (ABS): http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/elec...functions.html

Hmm, I just changed the master cylinder and getting the same ABS and PSM lights. I'm using 996 GT3 fronts and stock rear calipers.. Any ideas on how to fix this?

That's really bizarre. I'd love to find out what the issue is. Maybe air trapped in the PSM or ABS unit?? I never had any issues with my set up but I run the 997GT3 PCCB calipers front and rear with 380/350 rotors. It shouldn't matter though. The car is not smart enough to know what size brakes you have on the car and people have run various size calipers on the 996tt without issues. Do your PSM/ABS light come on immediately upon starting the car without touching the brakes or do they come on only when you apply the brakes? I think both you and CONTIGO have 01 cars so I don't know if this is something only happening on 01s. My car is an 02. It shouldn't matter because I checked in PET and the part numbers of the PSM and ABS pump are the same for all the model year turbos. Have you scanned with durametric for any codes?
