MAF Numbers

What is the best Durametric test for the MAF and what should the numbers be? I have the ABS/PSM error codes and I need to rule out the MAF before I start searching esle where. Thanks again for your help.

With a simple voltmeter you can do a test of your maf: http://www.renntech.org/forums/tutor...af-basic-test/...But this test got his limits....

So what was your volt reading? I don't know what the value should be on a 996 maf but for 997, I believe anything over 1.1v indicates a bad maf and should be replaced.

My multi meter died so I was hopeing there were numbers I could look at on the Durametric that would tell me if it was good or not.

I know you can do this with a PIWIS so the durametric can probably work but I've not tried it myself. Turn the key on but not start the motor then look for the maf voltage output. GL.

With the ignition selected without starting it should be .9 to 1.1 volt and with the engine at idle it should be 1.2 to 1.5 volts once the engine has warmup....

I guess I have another problem besides the MAF. With enigine off I have 1.04 and with it running 1.33-1.39. With the Durametric.

This test is a basic test and it is not completely accurate because the range of operation of the maf is a lot wider especially at higher rpm...

Log mass airflow sensor(hfm). This number should move freely as you rev the engine. If it's not moving the maf is dead. Normal range is approx 20-1500.

I must be missing something here. I have logged four sessions and I get nothing. I check the box to log the session and when I come back it is date/time stamped and has 1kb...blank.

From your table, maf = 1241 @ WOT. Not exactly sure what you should be achieving with your set-up but it sounds like you're in the right ballpark.
