My 911 goes into the shop tomorrow to start its new suspension work - JRZ RS1s at 3zero3 Motorsports in Denver. This will be my first time trailering it and I am more than nervous for sure! I had a friend help me load it and tie it down who has done this many times, but wow it feels different when it is my car towed by my other car! Wish me luck =)

I did a quick trip a couple of miles around my house. It was very into being in a much lower gear that it usually is on those roads. And the coolant temperature was slightly higher than it normally is. Other than that it felt pretty good. Tomorrow will be the real test for 70 miles.

I would back the car on to get the weight over the axles.

Tim we thought about that. I took it for a quick trip up to 50 mph and it seemed fine - no wagging. I will go slow tomorrow and reconsider for the trip home when the 911 is all finished.

I'm not sure? Don't have a way to weigh it? The trailer seems to behave better than it did without the car on it when the Cayenne is towing it though. Doesn't bounce around... just goes.

+1 I just trailered my car back from Evoms in Arizona. I pulled mine with my Tundra and got some trailer wobble around 65 mph! How much weight can that Cayenne tow?

definatly turn the car around. does the trailer have brakes? mine has double axle brakes with a teknosha controller and that makes a world of difference.

I went 55-62 mph the whole way and didn't get any trailer wag. They Cayenne is listed at 7700 lbs or so for towing capacity. The trailer has brakes too.

I've only done my sways so far due to how many clearance issues I already have with the MA Shaw GT2 front bumper, and in particular the carbon fiber lip on it. Just the sways though made a HUGE difference in the handling of the car. It corners much flatter and more stable, the understeer is totally gone, and even driving in a straight line the car feels more stable.

How much is 3zero3 charging you to install the coilovers? I'm going to add a different suspension to the car next spring clearance issues be damned! I'm getting old and decrepit (and lazy) so I'm just going to pay somebody to do it instead of doing the work myself. I can't be bothered anymore to do anything beyond brakes, oil changes, and a lot of simpler things myself.

I see you have numbers on the car, but I don't think I've ever seen your car at any of the track days. Is that because I'm blind, or do you rarely/never go out to High Plains?

For future purposes, the main thing you have to worry about with a short wheelbase Cayenne pulling your trailer setup is when you hit a dip in the road or a rough transition. This is when the rear bias will put a strain on the tongue of the trailer (see-saw). As another poster stated, it might be good to reverse the position of the car on the trailer if you plan on towing it for long distances.
