Is this handling feel normal?
The car is a 2003 Turbo lowered 1" on H&R's. I have the alignment specs somewhere if pertinent. Two different sets of new tires: Hankook Ventus V12's and Pilot Super Sports.
When I am holding a turn and putting a little (as in little) power into it the front end will feel like it is slightly rubber banding left to right.
I had this same feeling but more in the rear when I lowered my Z06 a little too far, but from what I'm reading 1" drop is very safe with the stock shocks.
So is this feeling normal? Is it something I can tune out with adjustable sway bars?

sounds like hankook v12's to me
esp before being scrubbed. are you pushing the tires?
That's what I was thinking but now I have the Pilot Super Sports on there.
Could it be a tire pressure thing with the V12s? I've had to track with them several times this year and don't get your symptoms. I do however get them greasy within 10mins then they loose grip, but seem to at least hold up structurally.
When I ran MPSCUPS they were a MUCH harder sidewall and you felt every crack in the road/track.

The car has Michelin Pilot Super Sports now and I am still getting this uneasy front end so I am not blaming the Hankooks.

I chunked my hankook v12's after a few laps back when PIR was still open for DE. Suckers got hot and started flaking away, practically ruined them.
Switched to much softer tire, but still not an r-compound and I didn't have anymore issues.

67k. As far as I know it is on the original shocks and struts. I wouldn't be surprised if the fronts were softer than they should be but the car certainly isn't riding like they are shot.
On a side note, the V12's do have a relatively soft sidewall and get hot/greasy fast. Works fine for medium street performance but they do wear out fast. I changed to g-force sport comp II for my GTI. Much stiffer sidewall.
The stock suspension may just be worn out. Hard to tell.
I would then check the control arms and bushings . If they need to replaced I would upgrade to the GT3 RS Lower Control Arm Kit.
+1

That would also make me not a happy camper ether, the only other thing I would consider is upgrading to H&R Sway Bars if you haven't done so already. How are you liking the 996T so far ?

Overall I am loving the car. I have only put about 350 miles on it and it already feels like home and fits me like a glove. I always knew it was the car for me and never even drove one until the day before I bought this.
