IPD 68MM VS 74 MM Plenum
IPD 68MM VS 74 MM Plenum
I have seen IPD's dyno's of the 68mm and that is impressive with an average of 35AWHP and up to 45AWHP in some areas!! Is it worth spending the extra for the 74mm with their throttle body that is needed. Lets say you are aiming for the 600AWHP range. At that HP range would the car make that much more AWHP then just the 68mm to justify the over two times the cost it takes to do the 74mm with the needed throttle body.
Has anyone independently dynoed any of the above.
Thanks

You are looking at this all wrong... adding Hp numbers based on parts you add is not going to give you want you want.... not on your set up...
K16/16gs first of all will not make 600awhp on pump gas or probably race gas no matter what pleunum you put on... that a lot as of those little turbos... mine you A3076s make that on pump... just keeping it real- good luck..

Markski,
I understand that being I am also looking at 3076's hence the 600AWHP remark. The reason for asking this question is I wanted to know if I just bolted this "part" up to a vehicle making "about" this power level what would be the true gain.
Thanks

I would be willing to send you one and let you be the judge. To answer your question I would do the 74mm set-up. You will gain from the plenum and the T-body.
John is right, there are end users on either side of the fence for one reason or another. Try it and just do a before after. Mike and Greg are stand-up! I respect them in this industry. If no bueno...send it back. I'll cover you on shipping both ways. I have a feeling you will keep it.

if you are going to go and do the labor. i would go straight for a 74mm TB and competition plenum on a moderate setup. i made 908whp thru a 74mm TB and some have made even more. its a tough product to test ona dyno because the install is not super simple if u have not done it before, and it really needs to be installed carefully to not forget any vac lines or check valves and "create" vac leaks and problems for yourself to chase. overall they are very high quality products, definitely top shelf when it comes to the aftermarket. i will be testing their new redesigned 82mm 997TT plenum on my car with 997TT intake manifold.
