Lug Bolt problem?

I just had my wheels painted and want to add spacers to get the proper look. So I ordered longer bolts in black and put them on tonight. The car looks fantastic but the wheels only roll a couple inches both forward and backwards. Can the bolts be too long? They are 50mm.

sounds like the bolts are hitting the ebrake on the back. factory length plus the width of the spacer should be about right.

I wonder if you could cut off the extra length with a hack saw and make them work?

typically lugbolts have rolled edges and a chamfered end so thats prolly not a good idea. you could however have a machine shop cut them down and chamfer the end to get what you need.
measure the distance from the outside edge of the wheel to the flat inside edge. then add the thickness of the spacer and an additional 6mm for the threads in the spindle. lastly the thickness of the rotor needs to be added in

Call Wheel Enhancement in LA. Tell them what spacers you have and they will have the proper lug bolts. Don't try to modify the one you have.

You might want to consider going with studs. Stronger, lighter and better all around..... Also less wear and tear on the wheel hub threads if you frequently change wheels.

Front brakes by pwdrhound1, on Flickr
dont the european cars use lubolts instead of lugnuts because the head of the bolt applies proper torque?
i was always taught the torque should always be applied to the head of a bolt.
that being said i would love to have stud bolts!! were did you get them?
