It depends on how much you want to do.
The first stage is typically to put a freer-flowing
exhaust and get your ECU flashed/replaced.
Any trustworthy mechanic can swap your
exhaust (see europipe.de), and a monkey with
a 10mm socket wrench could remove the ECU.
You could then choose to mail it anywhere in the
world to get programmed.

thanks for the advice,the next question is how reliable are they,an exhaust and ecu re-programming are as much as i would want to do.(our roads aren't as long in the uk
)

do three things...
Do the diverter valves as well as exhaust and chip.
The valves are cheap to do and remove the failure-
prone stock ones. No real power difference (until
you compare against stock failed ones;-) ).
The exhaust will be the only real cost. You can get
your chip done for that level of modification by Upsolute
for about $500.
