Okay, thanks. But before I tear my car apart again, why are these plugs so much better?

Also, saw 1.0 bar tonight fairly easy on an empty street. Wasn't even WOT. That normal? Could my car have a tune?

Update. I disconnected the battery to disassemble the headlight switch tonight to diagnose a "fog light constantly on" problem and after that the car now is misfiring badly, even at 1-2K rpm. It didn't do this before. I'm lost.

I did, however, observe that the boost pressure was ALL OVER THE PLACE. During WOT, car was misfiring/sputtering while I watched the boost pressure jump from .4 to .8 to .5 to .2 and so on.

HELP?

Make sure a control hose didn't come off a diverter valve.

Just hit 1.4 bar today. So...definitely not stock. I don't know who tuned it, but I guess next step is to look at the DME and then get it reflashed to stock?

I've attached a few videos I took this morning of a cold start, idle and the 1.4 bar run.

And just to reiterate, the dealer did a smoke test, vacuum test, tested the MAF and cleaned just for good measure, looked at DV's, checked out injectors (one of which was questionable he said)...and everything was good.

I'm not sure what other upgrades the car has on it, but is it considered "unsafe" to be running that much boost pressure without other upgrades like 5.0 bar FPR or bigger injectors?

Thanks for any input.

Travis

Copy that. Thanks, gentlemen. I'll try to find some time this week to work on her.

When I scroll through these post, I am always curious if a problem was found and what was the resolution?

Problem was never found. I ended up trading it in for a lease with a different manufacturer. I didn't have the time, space or money to work on it myself. I had changed out the coilpacks and spark plugs at the time. I wasn't about to give the dealer any more of my money either after I realized the techs didn't know much more than I do.

I will most likely get another Porsche at some point because they are so fun to drive as well as being pretty practical for a high-end sports coupe, but I will make sure there is plenty of warranty remaining.

That's really too bad. I too was reading through and hoping for a better ending.

Hardly the techs' fault that some goofy tune was in place. I'm surprised you didn't flash the thing back to stock and then trouble shoot from there.
