I am thinking to install a fan on each IC.Does it help?

My theory is it would hurt airflow while moving.

This would help for speeds over 160 or so.

are you thinking of installing a puller fan instaed of a pusher fan? mounting on the bottom side with a puller might work in this case.

More like... it would work for low speeds where very little air is being pushed across the IC

it would help at low speed, which is good because once the IAT is high it is very dificult to lower it.

I don't think a fan would produce enough air.

I've read that at high speeds you don't get much air going through the i/c so a fan might help those that are injecting CO2, or whatever they are injecting in the intercoolers.
It would also help if you are stationary and want to inject CO2... it wont waste the injection bouncing on the i/c and going through the wrong direction.

The puller fan sounds great.... Who is going to try it?

What type of ICs do you have? Is the ducting in place?

Right, I would think they would be affective below 30 and above 160. I have kicked the idea around.

Do you think if i reinstall the ducting it will make big difference?

Is the reason that the IC ducts aren't seeing much airflow above 160 mph because the aerodynamics of the car are directing the air past the opening at that speed? If so, I think what would be more effective than a little fan is figuring out how to direct air into the inlets at those speeds. Whatever that would be it probably wouldn't be attractive and would probably have to be something that actuated at speed... or wider rear quarters with larger openings. If there is a low pressure zone formed at the opening I don't see a little fan overcoming that problem. I would love to be proved wrong on this, though.

Little air flow does not mean the air flow is insufficient.

At low speeds there is no boost being made so the IAT is not raised and the little air flow is not affecting IAT.

Before I mod'd the stock Turbo's IC ducting I'd like to see IAT readings taken at various speeds/boost levels to see if there even was a problem.

My take is there is not.

At 168mph in the hot AZ summer heat my 03 Turbo didn't appear to suffer from any lack of intercooler cooling capacity.

If your ICs are big, and you have modded ore removed the ducting, you have disrupted the Venturi effect that draws air into the side vent.

Most people think the air just simply flows over the intercoolers. The long narrow channel that opens into a wide bottom by the rear bumper creates a Venturi tube that draws air by creating a pressure differential.

I think this is why your seeing inefficiencies when the IC gets heat soaked.
