How many miles can one expect from a 996tt?

I'm curious, how many miles can one expect to run on a 996tt? Can one expect to drive 150,000+ miles before repairs outweigh the value of the vehicle?

I am currently in the market for a 996tt, ~40-50k miles. I would like to be able to drive this sucker to the ground. Given my current history of vehicle ownership, that may not be likely though.

I currently have 160,000 miles on my M3. Given that the M3 engine is more highly strung than the 911TT, I would figure at least 200,000.

But a repair on these cars will never be more than their value. It would be rare for a 911 turbo of any type to have a value of less than $25,000. You can fix a lot for $25,000.

Later, Steve

As others have stated you shouldn't have a problem reaching high mileage in this car with proper maintenance of course. The ad was somewhere in Dallas if I'm not mistaken.

used blocks with 50k or less go for $9-13k all day. Drive it into the ground, then build it for stupid power later. The engines are very resilient.

I'm amazed at the residual values of the 996tt. Even after 10+ years, it can still command 40% of MSRP.

My Supra was 15 years old and had 125,000 miles on it, yet maintained 90% of its MSRP.

Of course we won't mention the amount of money I had poured into it.
