Very good looking car but, personally, Id be kicking myself if I sold a unicorn white I was looking so hard for one but never found it in the combo I liked.
I hear ya, but really no issues with the White one. I sold it on a whim because I needed garage space. I've regretted it every day since. I was very choosy and looked at quite a few to find another cherry. This one is what I've been looking for.
Good to be back...
Were there issues with the white one? See the list of issues below:
None, Zero, Bumpkis
That Unicorn is running free in the clouds of Blue Ridge Mountains.
Could have been. I've had it out on the Spars twice now. Between the power and the AWD the car is a real confidence builder. I'd forgotten...
Yes, I guess that's one way to put it. I've heard from others the AWD makes the car feel like it's on rails, you can do no wrong.
Each to their own. Coming from C2's and owning a Boxster (still), the Turbo felt like it had heavy steering that was exacerbated with the wider wheels and tires. To me it felt trucky, and the nimbleness I'd come to expect and loved was traded for forced security and automatic stability.
The day I bought my Turbo, it was always in the back of my mind to get the nimble and light feeling back of the C2 and put me, the driver in charge again rather than electronics controlling 4 driving wheels.
Several months ago, I removed the front axles, front diff and drive shaft. It seems like I added 10-20 more horsepower, and it's now a drivers car. I can now push harder through the tight R-L transitions in the canyons. I don't necessarily mean go faster because I don't care, but make steering changes with less effort and feel what the car is doing.
My motor is 100% stock, no LSD, nor do I feel it is needed at this point. I'm an ex motorcycle roadracer, like speed, like to push stuff hard in turns and keep improving my techniques. The 911 works a lot like a cycle in the twisties. I grew up in the late '60's driving VW Bugs with the rear weight bias and learned to slide them around turns.

Glad you're happy! Beautiful example
Coming from lighter RWD cars (RX-7 and my DD IS300), I know how you feel. Its hard to describe. The steering doesnt feel heavy but I definitely notice the drag of the extra systems on it. Ive thought about going RWD but, if I do that, I would want to do it properly with new uprights and and LSD so $$$$. But, then again, I might just leave the TT as a more GT car and get something specifically for the track that has the characteristics I want.
I know what you mean Maverick. I find the 996 turbos to be incredibly strong, really fun to drive and certain to appreciate as time goes on. For that nimble feel and the thrill of raw Porsche driving I still have this...
