Still a great achievement, but a car doesn't go anywhere without a driver, so weight without driver is moot...
Can't wait to see some numbers...real world, not dyno...

And I live in Bama not Georgia

This is a 3.8 with an engine management system. I can turn the boost waaay

down in 1st,2nd and 3rd. Not to mention it has 997 GT2 gears. This is a

wonderful setup for road course and drag strip. Best of both worlds
sweet home alageorgia sorry ..but yeah.. makes me wonder how i ever got into this w/c behemoth..those are local roads in that vid. i'm tryin to enjoy em much as i can before discretionary travel in gas powered vehicles is outlawed.

i did read thru the 6 pgs and btw your propensity for proper engine mgm't and midget contortionism, and the car must be a gas! .. so what?. you gonna keep those playing cards in the wheels.. or run straight pipes?

Man you should know all about Alabama. Southern Cal remembers us. Well, at least the players we left conscious.

The real questions is: If you leave the state of Alabama and get a divorce,

are you still first cousins?

You guys have THE best roads in the country. W'e've made every effort

to create a balance of brutal straight line acceleration and handling. And

its gotta be a true daily driver!

We could have easily thrown on a set of garrett 35r or precision 62mm

turbos and made 1000-1200 hp. The trans and the engine would handle it

and we'de have to make some minor(in the scheme of things) adjustments.

That wasn't part of the plan. We believe better is better not bigger is

better.

Looking forward to seeing the final results for sure. Have you, or anyone considered running sequential turbos on these cars? I haven't seen any mention of it, then again I've been a member for about a week or so and only read a couple build threads.

That's what we run, sequential. Everything from modified factory (k16s)

to Garrett 35r's. And sometimes larger! From 500-1300 whp. It's all about

money and lack of common sense.

I ran 5.8 60-130 @ 550 whp. I ran 5.3 @ 650 whp.

With my gearing I'll be in the mid 4s @ 800 whp and 9 second 1/4.

You don't need 1000+ hp for these numbers, contrary to popular belief.

Lecturing me, of all people, on dyno numbers vs. real numbers....get real

Huh, I guess that would help explain the onset of peak torque at ~2700rpm. I always thought the turbos were both the same size. I'm running a GT3076R on my other car. Maybe I should swap them out.

oops! had a brain fart! I somehow thought you were referring to twin vs.

single! So no lol.

Same size turbo setups but the new VTGs allow the effective aspect ratio

to change under different conditions.

I know what you've run. I wasn't lecturing..I was just asking for an update for numbers when you have them. I don't give a squat about dyno numbers...

I don't have VTGs lol! I don't want VTGs!

And what's wrong with midgets? Mark, if everybody liked the same horse,

it wouldn't be much of a horserace.

I'm interested in dyno numbers relative to the dyno numbers I posted

on the same machine. In other words, from a tuning perspective.

I'll post some vbox numbers after the break in

got it.. i misread you when you went into the aspect ratio of the vtgs lol wtf? do you mind my asking what this build has cost you? reason i ask, another thread has me thinking, i would like track my car before retirement age.. and i want to know what the real ( for me ) potential barrier to entry might be, and that would be a blown motor. i figure, if i can't afford to blow up my motor ( not that i could lol ) i can't *afford* to track... also.. did you go w sequential shifters?? that is one ssick setup..that ain't cheap either.. so,.. taller gears/ steel.. what?

...randy, you'd love it up here. right next to mqueens favorite watering hole is a corral full of donkeys/horses, you name it no midgets that i've seen, but there is a rodeo clown,.. kinda down on his luck. but a decent clown, nonetheless... if ya ever get out here, i mean..
