Should I keep my car or sell it??
Should I keep my car or sell it??
So after 8 years of ownership I think i'm ready for something new.
I looked at the new turbo/gt3 but honestly for that money I rather go Fcar or Lambone. I figure a modded 996tt is barely worth more than a new honda Accord coupe. My second car is 99 328iC - its a slushbox an convertible but has been the most reliable car Ive EVER owned.
So then board should I keep the 996tt and mod it a bit more to keep up with the newer(faster) cars?
My present thinking is to get rid of the 996tt and get a used gallardo spyder and a used MB E300 sedan
OR
add 60lb injectors and a 1.3bar tune to my TT and get a new Maserati MC convertible.
I want to have a comfy daily and a sportscar in my garage.
Which combination would you guys choose?

So is need one for show and one for go.
The way i look at it, my modded TT is probably faster than a gallardo spyder. So my "go" is also my show.
If I do the maser as a "show" - its way more go AND show than the MB and plenty comfy for the wife n kids. The fact that its a 4 place convertible is a bonus.
I guess I dont have to feel bad about practically giving the TT away as well...w/ 60lb injectors it should be faster than a G right?

guy next door has the newish maserati 2 dr gt coupe ( whatvr its called ) its awesome inside, and the exhaust note is intoxicating and has some beans. i particularly love it when he's coming up around the bend when we go for a friendly neighborhood duel..
... and i'm already at the top of the mountain waiting lol..
but for a dual purpose go and show car? it's tough to beat.

If your going to sell and get a Gallardo Spider there is nothing to talk about! Its not the fastest car, but its pretty fast... Do some suspension work and throw a loud exhaust on the Lambo and your living the dream.
The only thing is if you roll up on a modded 6tt you will get smoked

if you want to be *** raped by the depreciation monster then go for the maz, personally i wouldnt buy one unless it was a few years old at least, and even then the maintenance costs are a real turn off
i dont know what your mods are but if it were me and i loved my car i would throw 5-10k at it and add a bunch of hp

Well, I was at 620HP, but had to bring things back a bit for reliability - (Lean conditions at 5800rpm).
I got smoked by a C-class AMG last week.
Ive always wanted a G, but having a G and the TT leaves me with nothing 4 seat and practical).
The more I think about it, it really makes sense to mod the TT more and get a slow/show/convertible w/ 4 seats...
I'll start checking out used Masers maybe.
Thx guys

Historically, Maserati's seem notorious for having poor resale and end up looking very dated, really quickly. Their recent saving grace is the fact their newer-gen body styles look very similar to certain Aston Martins and Fisker Kharmas (which are absolutely beautiful). I would not mess with a Maserati.
Since it seems like you can afford it, I'd get a Lamborghini and a family Accord 4-door, since you think so highly of their value. The Lambo may be far more expensive maintenance wise as well as fickle and requiring more routine maintenance as compared to your 996TT. I would guess those maintenance costs would start to wear on you, as well as the desire to keep as many miles as possible off of the car trying to spare potential mileage-related issues. The plus side of a Lamborghini is them being rare, super exotic and much more of an attention draw if you're into that. Just my $.02.

If money is no object I would make the jump for a change but the change never lasts long with me but the money spent does lol. Keep the 996tt and put some more cash in it= in the long run you will be glad you did.
yup... not sure why... it is the BEST exotic sports car in the market ... imo... that includes what is on the horizon for the next 1-2 years.
