New person question, what is X50? Is that an engine code?
I ask because I, too, just bought an 02. It, however, has a new (used) engine in it because the last one broke/blew up, not sure. I'm waiting to hear from the original owner what happened.
The engine was (re)installed by the Porsche dealer here in Boise after a shop up in Portland screwed it up.
I got the car at a cheaper price, so that's why I sprung for it.

And yeah, I've got the laminated window sticker on my bookshelf. It might not have been 17,800 exactly, but it started with a "17" and ended real close to "18."
thanks all
I think the smartest move is to buy a used motor and install. I didn't buy this car for an investment, I bought it to drive till the wheels fall off so I don't care if resale is hurt. Will advise of the outcome.
in addition to the usual sources, this place has at least a cpl engines now http://www.ladismantler.com/parts/57...argers-Exhaust
