GT2 gas tank fit in 996tt?

Does anyone know if a 996 GT2 gas tank will fit in a 996tt? I removed my front diff for a RWD conversion and I need to replace my gas tank (due to fire). I have read on here that it might not have the mounting points? I picked up a gas tank already from a wrecked local GT2 for dirt cheap.

yes it will fit. it is bigger then the 996tt tank because it uses some of the space where front drive would sit on our cars. you will also need to modify to fuel level sender unit or get one from a gt2

Curious: 996 Turbo is listed at a 16.6 Gal tank, but my GT2 spec sheet from porsche only lists GT2 @ 16.9

How many gallons is this GT2 tank you got your hands on??

Even close to 'E' I never get more than maybe 14 gallons in my gt2, have you ever actually put 16 gallons in your tank?

I haven't either.

BUT that doesnt mean the light isn't supposed to show zero fuel at 14.4gal so we have a safety buffer.

House fire Lost 4 cars. Rebuilding the P-car for a track toy.

All caused by plugging in a cordless drill (lithium ion) to charge and leaving for a few hours.

Wow that's nuts, I hope no people or pets were hurt as a result of the fire.

Why rebuild the Pcar for even a track car with that kind of damage?

No people or pets where harmed thank god!

I sunk 20k into rebuilding the motor just months prior to the fire. I have always wanted a track car and also to do a 997 front end conversion. I bought the car back for 3K And lastly, I like projects.

Crazy story. Sorry not to sideline your Gt2 tank question, but do you have more pics after the fire and during the rebuild process? For 3k I would have bought it back too!

(911t for sale, pretty clean, clear title, no accidents) lol....

My wife's parents neighbors house burnt to the ground from a charging lithium battery recently so we all should take note.
