Defroster line issue

I recently moved to FL, I generally do not tint my cars but decided to move forward with it on my TT. I had it installed two weeks back and there was a bit of lint in the rear window, I took it back today and had new tint installed. He promised me they do not use razor blades to remove the old tint. After cleaning it I realized three of my defrost lines are hacked up. I have never used the defroster once before but it is frustrating. I hope he gives me a refund.

I feel your pain I had work done at my local dealer and they cracked the tabs on both my tail lights, they were replaced after a lot of heated words. I do 99% of my own work as it seems every time someone else touches my cars I have something to repair= scratches etc. Hopefully they will do something to cover the damage.

There is a defroster repair compound that can be used to fix the broken lines and they should pay to get it fix imho...

Thanks guys, the top three defroster lines were hacked up and the rest of it works fine. What honestly gets me the most is this guy gave my car back without telling me he did this! Not sure whether it's worth going back to him, I am infuriated that he was so unethical in not just owning up to what he did. My credit card company will reimburse me and I just have to send them pictures. At the end of the day what can he do to make up for it, it's a shame that some people operate a business like this. I would prob have to take him to small claims to get more than the $200+ I paid. I will take this as a lesson and it could have been a lot worse.

I looked at the repair kits, but this would mean the tint would have to be removed again...prob not worth the hassle. I have never used the defroster once, I keep it sheltered.

25 years ago, My tint guy told me never to use the rear defroster with tint. Your guy may not have noticed or figured you know you shouldnt use it. Sucks either way and i hate when things like this happen to me, but you probably wont need it here in Florida anyway

Guy told me he was going to put it through his insurance and get me a new rear windshield. I'm skeptical, I will make sure it's installed at the dealer or a VERY reputable place. Interested to see how this pans out.
