3rd breaklight rubber seal

Folks
Does anybody know if it possible to buy the 3rd breaklight rubber seal loose.
This side of the pond you have to replace the whole breaklight unit. The seal does not come loose.
Any references will be appreciated.

Regards

I believe you have to buy the entire light. They aren't terribly expensive though. If I remember right it is about $50 in the US

Another over engineered Porsche part - can't get just the seal, you have to buy the whole unit. They run about $115 on EBay - can't believe one of the vendors hasn't come up with a solution yet. I tried to make my own and failed.

You might also consider an aftermarket LED version from Maxspeed. It costs $100 as well

I replaced mine last month with a clear led 3rd brake light from eBay for $100 shipping included it updates the car a bit and matches the top of my tail lights.

Clear for a brake light? Wouldnt that be confusing in daytime, and downright obnoxious at night? Just wondering.....

Just trim the rubber seal completely off and reinstall. I linked pictures of mine in another thread on here and everyone agreed that without it, it looked more then fine. But with it ripped it looks bad.

I have the clear LED aftermarket unit installed and just not totally satisfied with the fit. The unit is not curved like OE and does not fit flush with the wing .

Yup, I bought one too and it is sitting on my bench uninstalled due to that fact, tore the rubber on it trying to get it to fit right but never could, Then when I went to plug it in to make it work it did not... So thus it is still sitting on my workbench to remind me of the difference about quality and caring and the Just good enough mentality that seem to plague our world!

After futzing around trying to make my own seal, I did the same as Engine Guy and trimmed it all off. Once the scraggly edges are gone, it looks fine.

Yeah it really is not there to seal anything and when it is gone you would not even notice it if you did not look real closely and know it should be there!
