Next Step up from K24/18g??
I was wondering what is a good turbo to step up from k24/18g?
I am looking for a setup that does not have a ridiculous amount of lag.
I will be doing rods.
I was also wondering if I could get to ~800whp/wtq without having to build the transmission? I know guys had to reinforce at certain levels and I didnt know what levels those were. Also at those levels are there other reinforcements that will be needed or show face?
Also will I have to upgrade my fuel system? I have 72lb injectors and a bigger fuel pump currently with a 5 bar. I also run Meth in my car.
Thanks guys.

I have been torn for a few years on what to go with from my complete 18g set-up,,between the 20s and 3071s..
I have all the supporting mods and my package runs great, thats why its so hard BUT I was ONLY planning on running pump gas,93 oct...
I did a lot of picking peoples brains and posts on here...

The USP guys put down 730ish whp with 18G's on E85 and ran 10.2 or something like that. Personally, I think 18G's are pretty hard to beat, especially if you upgraded to a billet 18G wheel.

20g billet is a really good cost effective set up... we did it back in 2004 with Bobby... then it was sold to a member in Minnesota... we ran against some 800HP Evoms car and actually surprised a few... but it takes more then just a turbo to be fast... just saying...

If you have the money, Alpha 3076 is the next logical step, as they bolt right on. 20g's are OK, but it's a fairly decent sized wheel in a small housing, efficient, no, but it does seem to work with the right mods. Anything else will require headers (unnecessary for performance at this level). The 18g has tremendous potential. I would focus on maximizing that with more mods, once you max them out, you can upgrade turbos then, and shoot for the moon.
I'd actually be curious about this as a response from anyone. With turbo and mod info.
Do a search here. EPL posted a thread and dyno a few years ago, showing spool of 18g vs A28. Forget about the numbers and just look at peak numbers and power under the curve. A3076 power will be increased proportionately...

So with my setup, I could just slap on some 3076's and not have to upgrade the injectors and since I already have a bigger fuel pump and 5 bar is be good to go? So basically drop motor put in rods and slap on bigger turbos and retune. I also have aftermarket AMS waste gates currently.
You can use those turbos now with that fuel system,, your tuner would have to dial your tunes power down to match the engines internal limitsfor now. Probably no meth is going to be used.
