WOW first dead stop run in the BEAST!
WOW first dead stop run in the BEAST!
Okay,
Had a nice empty road and finally got brave enough to do a dead stop 1st gear run (getting practice for the drags). WOW first gear is gone in a heartbeat and this thing just goes. No bogging, no wheel hop just get it up and go! I didn't dump the clutch just tried to slip it and bam it is gone and so is first gear!
Ran through 2nd and 3rd if this thing isn't a 10 second car I don't know what is! We shall see.
VERY IMPRESSED AND PLEASED!

Not sure I understand your question, are you asking what it would cost to go from stage 2 to my car?

That is a loaded question. When you get to Stage 5 which EVO doesn't even offer anymore, you start talking about lightweight flywheels, heavy duty clutches, Carillo connecting rods, better head studs, etc....
So it is hard to answer that question. If you wanted a stage 5 right from the get go with all the above $55,000.00?? something like that. If you wanted to chance not doing the internals knock off $15,000.00.

Buddy,
It may not hurt anything but I would NOT try to launch that much power in second gear from a stand still. Something has got to give and you better hop it is your traction. Other wise it may be your front differential. Any better informed people want to chime in. What do I know anyway? If it were mine I might just get the car moving and then rip second and third gear. I have never been in your car but it should go 10's. Even if it does not it should hit 150 within real soon after the 1/4. That is fast as hell for a street car.

But ig uess your right, that's without the other necessary components to make it run sufficient (Lightweight clutch/glywheel, internals and so on)

No, no, no, no. Drag racing is all in the launch and you've got to launch hard. You do not want to launch in second gear, you want to launch in first gear. Keep it off the rev limiter. No way in Hell will you trap 150 MPH. Good luck!

A 996tt properly set up is capable of trapping 150.

I would pay to see a Porsche trap 150. Not going to happen with what's out there now. Tjose who have any serious experience drag racing know how much more it takes to get a car from 130 to 150 and the TT's not going to do it.

I don't know what neck of the woods you live in, but there are several 996tt's way above 130. But if you say it can't be done who is going to argue with 1999Porsche911.
