No doubt that the TT would dust the M5 around a track!
Anyway, love both cars. All you who have either of them (or both) should consider yourself very very lucky!
i hope the M5 SMG is much smoother. do most people here talking have experience with the SMGII in M3? i bet it's great on track but horrible on street. it makes passenger very uncomfortable where comfort will be important for M5. guess we'll see soon.

True, Audi's depreciation is terrible. Then again, If I wanted an investment to work for me, I'd try new biz ventures, mutual funds or real estate. Audi, from personal experience is a better built / quality car than BMW. I'm not just saying that from the hundred plus cases of BMW M motors blowing up, or the silent dealer buy backs on the 7 series, but even interior trim, speedos not working, repeat dealer visits etc.. etc.. of several frustrated friends. Would I own a BMW? Probably...Maybe the M6 cab, but so far I haven't. THere was a better audi alternative. Comparing apples to apples - BMW and Audi launches their competing cars at different times. I"d take the current RS6 over the current M5..infact i did. I'd take the nexgen RS6 if it were out now over the upcoming M5, but again, launch dates are years off.
Don't get me wrong, I do like BMW's but quality wise between the two......just not upto par in as Audis (FIT & FINISH-wise).
I know all about Lou's love for BMW first hand, but everytime he got in my a8 or rs6, he was pleased. Then of course once he gets out he'd make fun of it.
To answer the question of the poster... TT over an M5 anyday. There is no substitute. If you plan on switching for the sake of change..until the 997TT comes out as you say.. go for it. A little porsche hiadous is never harm.

Ryan knows I love BMW's, and I know of his love for Audi's and have always liked his Audi's. Its just for every Audi, the BMW counterpart is lighter, faster, handles better, and loses less money... Audi splits the difference between BMW sportiness and MB numbness.. Its perfect for some, but, I'll take the sportier, faster car anyday... I have owned 2 745's, 2 645's, 2 540i sports, an M5, 2 Z8's, a 740i sport, and have NEVER had quality issues or undue maintenance issues....

Most So. Cal. dealerships will get $10-15 above MSRP first allocation deliveries. This may seem crazy but the car flat out performs according to all European customers currently driving the car, and backlog is well past 18 months in the states. My Blk/Blk is week 37 production (mid- October). Get it, and sell it when the 997TT is ready. Keep in mind that if you are going to sell it you may want to order it without too many bells and whistles. The $84,200 base quickly hits $100,000k with all dealer options.
Yup, Lou is correct JD has the Bimmer ahead of Audi in the quality dept. that is just unbelievable, guess they overlooked some items
like the Idrive (u crazy)!
Surely BMW paid all the loans off for JD to get a rating like that, just kidding Lou.
To each its own.
