800 hp on K16 Billets?
The problem is, an alpha 28 car is not going to make 900 hp in the real world.
Can you eek enough wheel hp to equate to 900 crank on a dyno? Probably, but
you can't transfer that into real world results.
I didn't win the argument with AMS, the math did. I merely wrote it on the blackboard.
It's like Tim said, " AMS got called out. The only peeps who don't see that are the newb
and the nut swingers."
If you need some stimulation, go start your own controversial thread.
Or maybe you could put your money where your mouth is and order the AMS k16
package with all the fixings. And go run 1.7 bar and 680 lb ft torque on a stock block
lol give me a break

I dont need to put any money anywhere, Im the guy going to be dynoing the car with AMS billets on it thats matched your 60-130 time

Cant catch any cats (they must be AMS cats out tonight) but did get this little fella
As for controversial you seem to have that covered and Id hate to start something I couldnt back up or finish
Randy, what would you say about a package that advertises 720whp and 731ftlbs. at 1.4 bar on a stock block? This package is advertised as a 850 hp package. It's called the Ski850 kit. Specifically built for stock block cars. Better start a new thread.
Can't have anyone peddling unreasonable expectations around here.
Well, this has been an entertaining trainwreck. I'll give you that.

And there are plenty of guys running 700 whp on stock blocks with gt30
based turbos. I'm no expert but from what I understand, the bigger turbos
are much easier on the rods than the k16s and a 28s. I think the problem
is the hard hitting torque down low. Personally speaking, I think it's a
good idea to build your engine, if you can afford it, when you move past
a tune / exhaust. I'm not saying it must be compulsory, just might be a
good idea.
Trainwreck? I think it was more of a challenge to some pretty outlandish
claims made by a very popular tuning company. You should try standing
up for what you believe in sometimes. And more importantly, you might
wanna have some consideration for those of us who do.
AuidiBull, do you even own a Porsche? lol
You don't own a Porsche but you are on the Porsche forums and you have an opinion?
That's just weird.

Frankly, if tuner A can make 600 WHP on K16 billets on pump 93 with the only major supporting mods being exhaust, injectors, and EBC... I don't think it's far-fetched that tuner B can make 70 more WHP by adding quality ICs, freer-flowing inlet pipes, and most importantly, quality race gas. But maybe that's just me.
Or we can believe that tuners like Switzer and AMS are disingenuous crooks and scam artists - but I will respectively disagree with that viewpoint, personally.
I asked layinback how he feels about Switzer, but he didn't reply (might've missed the question). Switzer's P700 package for 996TTs is essentially an exhaust, K16 billets, injectors, and tuning/EBC. P stands for "pump" as they advertise that package makes 700 hp crank, 600 wheel, on 93 octane pump fuel. They do not disclose the amount of boost they run (as a matter of company policy I believe, as it's somewhat like openly sharing corporate IP). They have a dynojet dyno video showing the results, too.

Anybody is welcome to start a thread challenging Switzer, Markski, Evoms,
Vivid or any other tuner on the board.
If the status quo is misrepresentation, so be it. If my stance is unpopular,
so be it. If my allies remain anonymous and only support me through
private messages, so be it. It's human nature to go with the crowd. I
understand.
I think the problem is this has been an attack built on belief, opinion and conjecture. The only "math" has come from Martin. And when he shows the "math", the attack of conjecture continues. Until there is an argument using graphs, stats etc... I think it's safe to assume the guy with the world renowned tuning company who's been open here comes out ahead.
The ad isn't even misleading. This has been such a strange witch hunt.
If there's some evidence against AMS great I want to know. If not just stop the attack, it's just a repeat of "You lie because I don't agree."
Reminds me of a guy I went to high school with who's come back was always "ya well you're an idiot"

I've been shopping. I prefer to educate myself BEFORE jumping in the pool and floundering around and wasting my money.
I brought up Markski's package because it is advertised the same way (along with just about every other package out there). He actually used an 18% drivetrain loss to get his numbers. You were already talking about the limitations of stock engines, I was using that as a counterpoint. If you are going to indict the methods used, it should be a universal indictment.
The AMS k16 996 package is advertised as the SR650 kit. They claim 650hp and 600+ ftlbs. Where is all the deceitfulness you speak of?
I stand up for my beliefs every day. You telling me to be considerate is laughable. Remember how many times you insulted Tim, Mark, Scott, etc.? I have never besmirched a fellow forum member's appearance, character, or intellect. You have.
I respect your reasoning for starting the thread. I just disagree with your methods. Mike said it best. You're better than this.

The other point that you have completely ignored is the fact that you are comparing k16's and A28's like they are all identical. They aren't. Martin explained that they use their own proprietary hybrids. You have no idea what they are capable of. You know what yours were capable of. Two completely different things.

in and out of the Lambo forums. But guess what? I'm not going to share my opinion about
Lamborghini until I've earned the right to have one.
And what do you want me to do? Take on Markski, Evoms, Switzer, Vivid etc....?
I apologized to Tim and Mark. Things got very heated and things got said on both sides but
we have since made our apologies. And I would have no hesitation sending my car to
Tim for any performance work. I would trust him before Evoms, Switzer or AMS.
When I've been wrong I've admitted it. I didn't start this thread to call out all the vendors
on 6speed. I wanted to start a conversation about some of the outlandish claims being
made by AMS. I saw it as a possible gateway for others to do the same down the road.
There is a lot of talk about such matters behind the scenes. Most are afraid to speak out
in fear of being banned or because it's generally not popular. You are certain to rile their
existing fan base or maybe they've produced some fantastic numbers in other areas. Perhaps
admin just f'n bans you? There are a myriad of reasons to just sit down, shut up and eat your
porridge.
