Best Year Choice for a 997 TT Tiptronic

All,

I have a 2002 Gray TT with the mods in my signature that I plan to sell. It has 32K on it and is perfect.

Post sale, I am considering a 997 TT Tiptronic, but know very little about the 997 Series. Is there a "Best Value" year(s) is should pay special attention to? Why?
I'd like to spend as little as I need to for a low mileage, top condition car all other things considered. Trades?

I drive very little (1-3K/Year) and want the Tip to be more comfortable in LA Traffic. I think I would actually drive it more....

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

if i were considering this i would opt for the 997.2tt w pdk over the 997.1tt older tip trans for obvious reasons. the 7 spd pdk is in a class of its own, and the only auto trans i would consider in the turbo.

..and i certainly understand your consideration(s) if you drive your turbo regularly in la traffic. an utterly ridiculous, yet often necessary proposition.

Budget being a consideration, I don't think I can manage a 997.2 with the PDK.... Thanks!

I hear ya. I would think that would help to make your decision for you. If you opt for a 997.1 tt, at least you'll have a mezger motor, if not the better trans. Gl with your decision.

I wanted a manual transmission but ended up with a Tiptronic because it was cheaper.
I planed to drive the car on weekends and do some trips but because it was very comfortable in traffic, I ended up driving it everyday.

If you want to keep you car stock, sport chrono is a must have for tiptronics. On sport mode the shifts are decent.

I'm going to pick up an 07 Tiptronic myself pretty soon! Prices are starting to drop on them now that the 991 TT is out! Some of the fastest 997 TT's in the world are Tips!
