I have a hardly used Tilton that we are removing. Years ago we helped pioneer this triple disc. It was nothing but problems.

I actually have had just the opposite experience with Tilton. It has never missed a beat on my car in 4 years.Drivability is great, handles plenty of torque (1250lb ft +) and recently sent it out to be checked ,tested and rebuilt and came back as new. After 4 yrs of abuse (racing, countless dyno pulls) it still buried Tiltons dyno at 1250lb ft.It is pricey though...

Do these clutches break in at all?
I have a triple Carbon clutch. When i got the car it was already installed. It was pretty bad as far as the engagement. It took a while to learn to be somewhat smooth with it.

Ive noticed recently its easier to drive. Even the car wash guy doesn't stall it any more.
Is that a bad sign.. or just the clutch is broken sign?

Whats up Josh ! Clutch gets smoother as you drive it because the discs wear in against each other and get rid of unevenness, some are smooth out of the box. There are a handful of versions of this thing too and some are smoother than others. What you can do is try 4 or 5 second gear starts trying to take off smooth, than turn car off and clutch in and let the car sit for few minutes with clutch pedal down. Hope this helps ! P.S tell Mikey he owes me a 10 second car.

Are triple disk clutches faster per say then a single disk, in relation to losing power between shifts?
