996 turbo over potholes and bumpy roads

With a lowered suspension (ie coilovers), but with good tires, how good/bad is the ride in a 996 turbo going over bumps on roads ?

I ask because I haven't purchased it yet, and am a very good 5/6spd manual driver that doesn't "jerk the car causing the passenger" to spill their drink.

but I have to factor the overall ride comfort, as my passengers as do I, like to enjoy coffee drinking.

If you want a car that can serve as a mobile coffee lounge the Turbo is not for you.

My 03 is stock with the 18" wheels/tires but even so it rides harsh enough to warrant comments from some passengers.

BTW, no passengers are allowed to drink coffee or anything or eat anything while in the car.

Heck I don't even drink coffee in the car. I stopped this practice after I bought my first Porsche.

No eating or drinking in my cars either. Ride is not overly rough but wife choses to pass when I take it out.

What do you mean 1" larger diameter tires? You mean wheels?

I, like you, plan to drive my turbo year around in Chicago.

same. I'm going to drive mine even in snow, +snow tires. Probably on stock suspension.

you can setup the stiffness on some oil coilovers, I liked PSS9's very nice coils, I used to have them on my m3 and went thru 4 winters, no rust/

In the late fall to early spring I run all season Conti DWS tires on in that above size also..I drive in the snow, not major snow, with good results. ...

Ride is a bit stiff on PSS9 setup. My wife doesn't complain and it feels luxurious to me... My other toy car is a moderately track prepped S2000. That will knock your fillings out just riding over pebbles in comparison. Strangely enough she doesn't complain about taking either car out. Guess I am lucky...

Oh but only liquid allowed to be drunk in the car is water just to be safe...
