Intermediate Shaft Failure a Risk on 996 TT?

Just heard about intermediate shaft failure, not sure if it is a risk for my 2001 TT Tip.

I was told its not an issue on the turbos, just Carreras and boxters.
Main problem is avoiding speeding tickets.

There is nothing similar between the non-turbo Porsche engines and Turbo cars with Metzger engine. Well they are both in Porsche and Flat-6 but that's about where the similarities end...

But I have to inform you, there is a possibility of failure with the TT intermediate shaft. There was some case reported of bolts becoming loose between the shaft and the gear itself (see picture). But does not seem to be a common problem…. Also a picture of the normally aspirated 996 engine just to show you how different the design is…..
