Big u shaped Crack on the plenum around the stand off that holds the aluminum intake . Fixed with epoxy and sst parts. It must have started a wile ago because the car has never been this fast.

Same problem here. Discover the crack when my engine was removed for coolant pipes welding. Fix it with fiberglass. Hope it will last!

Another **** poor plastic fantastic part from the factory. Not impressed.

Interested though in what kind of mileage your vehicles have and if it's due to stress related to the number of heat cycles, etc.

It's easy to crack it if people aren't careful when lowering the motor. That's the bolt that attaches to the intake hard side, which also attaches to the body of the car. I.E. if you drop the motor too much, the weight gets put onto this plastic piece if that bolt isn't removed. When I dropped my motor last month, it was obvious that it'd been out before as that back bolt wasn't even there, and I'm quite okay with that. Luckily, Todd @ Protomotive warned me about that very specific bolt before I did the engine drop.

(Just mentioning all this as a general PSA for other owners who may drop their motor in the future)

In my case 50,000 miles. I think mbgt72 is right about stress on removal or stress related to poor intake attachment...

Whew. Good to know this is not another unforced failure like the coolant reservoir tank.

Just went to look at my repair to see if it is holding and I had to use the borescope…Not the best place but with the engine lowered 4 inches this can be inspected properly...

Yes, this is what the instructions call for. The motor is able to be lowered ~2" or so, and then the manual requires that you remove the plenum bolt as well as some others to lower the motor further. But as I mentioned, I see no reason to install the rear plenum bolt as everything is pretty secure as is without it.

I has this issue as well - put the wrong bolt in my drop links and it hit the intake worm clamp near the turbo and pushed the intake up and broke the aluminum plenum mount off and cracked the plastic intake distributor. So if you have aftermarket links, check clearance.
