You are right in my case. I did this as a kid 35-38 years ago. Would ride around the hospital and grocery store casing out cars with chrome caps and would steal them for my BMX. I had a small collection of them at home. I deserve mine to be stolen but again probably why I have plastic caps as well

 

I guess I ask for it when I use Porsche logo metal valve stem caps. After a few missing caps, I started tightening them REALLY tight. Now carry a small pair of channel locks in the car to both tighten and untighten. No more missing caps. I do warn anyone working on my tires that they will need to use a helper for removal.

When I was 12 years old were all used to swipe them too and put them on our BMX bikes. Now the world is getting even with us. I run naked, no caps for me. Having to take off caps to adjust pressure at the track is no fun when they are +200F... You only get burned once...

 

I was the banana seat bike rider with shifter on bar and cheater slick= pre worrying about what caps were on valve stems lol.

 

Lol someone did this to me!!!!!! I think it was a valet kid that parked my car the other day! It must be something these punks do now and collect them to show their friends! dorks. Haha I can imagine this conversation..."look bro! This one came off a Ferrari, this one came off of a lambo and this one came of some old crappy Porsche turbo" lol stupid kids.

 

After some dip-stick parked his F-150 next my Audi in a totally empty lot except my car (you have seen the commercial right?) and gave me a nice ding I took all of his nice shiny Ford valve caps. My girl stopped me from keying his car, slashing tires, or waiting around for him so I did the only thing I could do that gave me just a little bit of satisfaction!

 

Might want to reconsider. They could retaliate.
