Ahh reviving this thread haha.. Just wondering, i have the same symptoms, partial throttle in first accelerating it feels like it hit a little dead spot then keeps going, and under full throttle in 2nd or 3rd the car like sputter midway through the power range then bursts with power again.. I should definitely clean or change my MAF sensor correct? Thanks guys.. Martin

It's a simple job and if it doesn't fix your problem, you can steer away from the MAF as being the cause of your problems and then lean towards the plugs as being the possible issue. It's just steps in simple troubleshooting...

Make sure you but the correct cleaner pictured at the beggining of this thread. The goob at auto zone showed me something real similar BUT as I read the can it said do not get on plastic. The stuff at the beginning of this thread is what you want. They did have the correct stuff at auto zone but it was in a little spray can with the red nozzle. Worked great but my car was not exhibiting any trouble before hand. I just figures it could not hurt sinc e I had a BMC filter in it for a while.

tell me about it...running those french craps and i believe that they are the cause of hi load load sputter. the car in 4 5 6 gear sputters hard @ 4.7 to redline. ill screw in some plugs and clean the maf.....
hi load sound like plugs doesnt it?
Same company actually makes something called the MAF Cleaner.
Did the same thing with mine. I actually went through almost the whole can. Cheap alternative to buy a new MAF..
To bad I thought it didnt work and bought a new one anyway. lol.

I cleaned my MAF, and its like Dock said... Its amazing how much different my car accelerates now. No hesitation in the 2,800-3,000 rpm range and its a lot smoother running.
Thanks for the right up.
