How much it cost for Brake fluid change?
@ local indie shop? It's time to change it, I see that last time it was changed at 22k and that was in 07. Or I just buy Motive Euro brake bleeder and do it myself. I think its around 60ish for motive brake bleeder, I'm going with Porsche Brake fluid I think 1L of fluid should be enough? ---
Might as well buy the Motive and do it yourself otherwise you are going to pay $150+ for a shop to do it. Its an easy DIY and essentially the same procedure for any vehicle equipped with disk brakes. 1L should be plenty. 7 years is a long time to go without a brake fluid flush. I use Motul RBF600 instead of Porsche brake fluid and just do it at the same time I change oil which is about every year to year and a half as a street car. Porsche recommends every 2 years. Guys who track their cars do it much more frequently though
I'm going to buy fluid from PelicanParts - Ate DOt 4 - 1L - 11.50, Bleeder 2 Quart tank and pump, number# PEL-0090 - 37.00 - 48.50 shipped to my door-
I called Local indy shop and they want 150 bucks. Not bad, but I rather save time and money and do it myself. :-d

I bought the power bleeder and used it once or twice. Now I just have the brakes flushed/bled at the dealer.
Before I can dig the power bleeder out and get a jug of fluid from the auto parts store the tech has the car in the air the wheels off, has connected the shop's power bleeder to the car's brake fluid reservoir, and is already walking around the car bleeding the brakes.
1 liter of fluid ($90) and 1 hour of your time it takes to jack up the car and bleed it with a motive. Super easy. Don't put any fluid in the bleeder but just use it to pressurize the reservoir.

Yep i thoght about it and forgot. Called local shop. He wants 100 bucks out the door. I dont want any bubbles in my system plus i dont track my car. Fluid looks good but im not sure when it was changed last time plus i dont trust previous owner.
motive power bleeder means no bubbles. better fluid is always good no matter whether you track or not. spending time getting to know the car and how the system operates how the pads are installed etc. means you won't get ripped off down the road.
I'll throw this out there. The brake lines on our cars are quite good, in fact the same lines you will find on Cup cars as they roll off the factory. The stock lines are a composite mesh core encased in a rubber ptotective sleeve and are in no way inferior to any aftermarket "braided" lines in my opinion. I assure you, if they were better, Porsche would put them on the Cup cars. I'd spend my $100 elsewhere. Also, the best fluid you can get these days in my opinion is Endless RF650. It replaced SRF as standard fill on Cup cars at the factory. It's about 3x the price of Motul but worth it if you track your car. For street use, Motul is quite good and cheap. I used to run it.

There is Motul 600 and 660. About $20 per 0.5L if I remember. Endless is about $50 per 0.5L and SRF is $80 per 1.0L
Man I am SOOOO JEALOUS of your pricing for maintenance down there. I wouldn't even flinch at $150 for brake flush! Up here an oil change is $250ish and PO paid $450 for brake flush! Not to mention bigger ticket items like clutch etc. So count your lucky stars!
As long as there are people dumb enough to pay such inflated prices, shops will continue to get away with charging them... Simple... You can literally do a brake flush in under 1 hour easy. An engine and gearbox oil change together will take about 1.5 hours taking your time. First time around will take a little longer but after that it's easy peasy...
