Why are BBS-SR So cheap?

This may be a dumb question but why are these wheels so cheap compared to the other BBS wheels?

Im looking for a set of 18's and saw these and dont think they look bad at all. Anyone have them? I have an 02TTS with aero kit and lowered on pss9's...wondering how they'd fit/look.

Thanks

I can't remember the exact process but they aren't made the same way the higher end bbs are.

In fact I don't even think the Chr are actually forged.

I looked at them because I do like the style but iirc, they're sort of heavy are they don't make the rears in 11in wide.

Cast wheels are generally almost always heavier, and less expensive than forged wheels. Still, if you are okay with the somewhat conservative sizing - they do look pretty good!

jferrante, this is the oz wheel deal o' the day lol. not that you want any.. but a great deal nonetheless

messed up link keep linking the "white" ones. the anthracite are 399 ea in 8.5 x 12. i'm tempted. while the bbs you were looking at are north of 600 in proper sizes.

The BBC Cast wheels which these are, are made in Germany. BBS Forged wheels are made in Japan under contract to BBS. When I visited the BBS factory in Germany a few years ago I also saw, many pallets of Aluminum OEM wheels for both BMW and Mercedes on the floor. My service rep at the BMW dealer said BBS wheels were not as good as factory OEM. Little did he know they were/are built side by side with exact same engineering and production tolerances.
