Unhappy Another coolant fitting victim

What I'm assuming was a fitting failed today while on a freeway onramp. Saw clouds, heard squeaking belts, I knew my time had come. Luckily there was an exit immediately after and I was off the road with no drama or high temps.

Unfortunately I am 3hrs away from home and need to get back to work wed/thurs so I'm a bit torn about what work to have done. I was already planning to do the 764/964/4.0 clutch and OEM gt2 conversion eventually as my slave has been passing pentosin to the front lately but now that the whole thing is likely coming out I'm considering turbo intake piping in addition to refreshed soft engine parts. Eventually I will be going with a28s and required supporting parts but not opening the engine; would the piping make a noticeable for this size turbo?

Thoughts, suggestions, additions? Injectors, 997 tranny mount, engine mounts? I'd like to not dig too deep of a hole in my bank account here but I'd also rather not pay for the same labor twice if I can help it.

Also, anyone have a full parts list for the gt2 conversion?

Intake piping will make a difference, there's a pretty decent pressure drop on the stock stuff leading to the intake box and this will support future mods.

PLEASE report this to NHTSB, the more of us who do the better a chance that PNA will be forced to do something!

Don't assume. I had the similar situation and it was a hose on the right side that split. Maybe you'll be lucky and it won't be a fitting.

blew one of my fittings three weeks ago. Towed it to the dealer. Big mistake. Repair was cheap compared to the Cayman GTS I fell in love with and bought. Dam fittings.

That should do it! Hopefully it's not a fitting but if it is every report helps!

I thought I read that the Gov't closed this case as inconclusive and not warranting further action. Is it still open?

I believe that they've decided to not act, they will still want to be notified of failures regardless of status. This issue can get people killed if it hasn't already so they most certainly should be notified.
