Forged Internals + Rebuild cost of engine?
LOL....Neither of them have came close to the level my car is at. Yes Tim does have the mile record, but I think my car will go 255+ in the mile all day. Bbi has never gone over 205.1 in the half mile. I've gone 219 multiple times. I've also ran a 3.0 60-130 on a non dedicated run. I've gone 2.4 100-150. This past weekend I beat a Ugr 2R lambo. I drive my car hard with zero issues. Not sure if I've seen a car of my caliber come from anywhere other than Evoms. Please post a link of the cars your talking about doing these things. I'm talking about real life cars. Not cars that people say they can build. Real cars that exist with real results.
nobody ever said you didn't have a fast car. you asked who could come close and i posted 2 shops that have surpassed you. get off your high horse and realize you aren't the only fast car out there
This talk makes me want to puke...lol
I have been pondering this since I bought the car.
And on the "who's the best" topic, I don't think something that goes fast is necessarily the best. A crap build can make a ton of power, and last 1000 miles. Id put my trust into the guy that makes 800whp and has been beating on it for 60000 miles.

I was wondering if your car is sponsored as I see stickers on it when you race ?
Also, on your comments about other cars....eg Tim..... Tim is a one man band, runs a very busy electrical/plumbing type industrial business and does our cars at GREAT RATES properly 1st time as well..... then he works on his car on the side, which for mind still has the 1 mile record until you beat it.
There are guys in the UK doing 260 mph plus in Porkers at the moment and some cars are aimed for 1/2 mile and some for mega top end, Tim's is the latter. I am dying to see videos of your car do the TX Mile or the 1.5 mile top speed run in Idaho etc.
I also didn't think the thread was about who has the fastest car but great engine builders and I have seen work by several different so called great engine builders who I wouldnt let change my light-bulbs.
The OP asked the cost to do basic engine work and EVOMS told him $10k and so far are the only vendor here to give an actual quote. Rods and headstuds as a basic build will be somewhere near $3k if you use EVOMS studs and Carillo rods.. then add labour and other things.
EVOMS is great, BBi gets rave reviews, Tim is ****ing remarkable... the little jigs and cam timing devices and the like he has built himself and his engineering knowledge are great... I use him because he is local and gives great service and back up.

well if you want to get nasty about it tim car holds the mile record. point blank. with less hp(by your standards) and less displacement than yours. what YOU THINK your car will do equals squat. no denial he has the record you are chasing him. bbi ran 176 in the 1/4 and you haven't so again your chasing them to take that record. both of these cars have been built by shops other then yours and they are real exist and hold records you don't.

Like I said in the prior post sorry if I came off like an As*hole. I just feel nobody gives Evoms credit for the work they do. They do an amazing job. I did not try to discredit Tim or BBI. If I came across that way I apologize. Bbi did do 172 in the 1/4 mile though and Evoms still has the 1/4 mile record.
so they are neither the fastest nor the quickest. are they faster than me? absolutely are they a quality builder? i would say yes. are they someone i would use? no. but thats my choice. if your happy with your car thats all that matters. just realize theres many high quality record holding builders out there. this platform is worldwide and going fast is what they do

according to drag times evoms is a full .2 off the record. # 3 overall behind ekanoo and eddie bello.

Basic rods and head studs build for $15k + 2 months of downtime.
It was mentioned to me in the quote this is the price *if they found no other issues with the car, IE. lifters, timing chain / guides, valves, ect.*
Just food for thought - It's also worth mentioning that it seems to be VERY difficult calling places to give you an accurate *this is what you're going to walk out paying* quote.
GL in the future
Just an FYI - Although stated $10k in this thread I called and got an actual quote... It came out closer to $15k for labor, rods, gaskets, bearings and head studs, ect... Just want to be honest here (not to mention I enjoy seeing pricing competition / differentiation in a market that is already plagued by PCar tax)

If you are in there you should update the lifters, especially the new models on the exhaust lifters. This isn't something you should skip. There are a lot of "while you are in there, do it".......lol
steeze - you can do just rods if you go for say Paulter and use the stock headstuds for your power level I think..... Mike (mtlsp) did his rods last year and has gone through a build process over winter, he can probably give independent advice
Yeah you're right on that. It can add up real fast. Best thing think where you want this car to end and it will save you a lot of money from doing it only once instead twice.
